Commissioner Praises Governor Adeleke's Performance, Appeals for Release of LG Funds

Osogbo, July 6, 2025 — The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for what he described as remarkable achievements in governance as the administration approaches its third year in office

.Speaking during a media briefing in Osogbo, Alimi highlighted Governor Adeleke’s strides in ensuring security and promoting the welfare of citizens, which he said align with the constitutional responsibilities of any government.

“Let me go by the law — the main function of government is the security and welfare of the people,” he said. “Today, Osun is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. This is not by accident, but due to the proactive approach of Governor Adeleke.”

According to the commissioner, upon assumption of office, the administration met a significantly under-resourced Amotekun corps with only 300 personnel. However, the governor approved the recruitment of an additional 1,150 operatives, bringing the total to 1,450, who have now been deployed across the state to boost security.

On civil service welfare, Alimi stated that the administration reversed the stagnation in staff promotions and training. “We approved long-overdue promotions and also facilitated training opportunities for civil servants. Governor Adeleke has also approved car and housing loans for workers, and these are already being disbursed.”

He noted further that the state has nearly completed the payment of outstanding half salaries owed civil servants during the Aregbesola administration. Retirees are also receiving their bonds, he added.

The commissioner revealed that out of a ₦2 billion allocation from the federal government, part of the funds was used to refurbish the Imole Buses — initially introduced during the Aregbesola era — for student transportation. The rest was used to enroll inmates into a health insurance scheme, granting them access to free healthcare.

On infrastructure, Alimi said the Adeleke-led administration has completed numerous intra-city roads in Osogbo, Ede, and other parts of the state, while ensuring that each local government benefits from at least 1.5km of road projects. He listed major projects, including a flyover in Ile-Ife, a dual carriageway in Ilesa from the Owa Obokun’s palace, and an ongoing flyover at Oke-Fia in Osogbo.

“In education, we have built several classrooms and taken steps to improve the welfare of teachers,” he said.

Alimi also accused the federal government of withholding local government allocations in the state, stating that the state government has been using its own resources to pay salaries of local government staff, primary school teachers, and traditional rulers.

He called on the federal government to urgently release the withheld funds to enable the state to do more for its people. “We appeal to the federal government to release the local government allocation to Osun so we can continue to enhance the welfare of our people,” he concluded.

Shonekan diligently served British commercial interest in Nigeria - Satguru Maharaj Ji

Founder Of One Love Family and the Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji in this interview, spoke about his relationship and encounter with former military president of Nigeria, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Late General Sani Abacha, Abel Ubeku, Ernest Shonekan among many salient issues. Excerpts:

Can we go back to the Abel Ubeku angle? What was the plan? It really sounds strange that Abel Ubeku was to be made interim President of Nigeria.

What is strange about it? If you can recall, there was a clamour for the entry of fresh persons into the political high-echelon of Nigeria. Nigerians wanted a non-politician to preside over the country after IBB's exit. They were of the opinion that Nigerian politicians are poor managers.

They wanted someone who has successfully managed competitive institutions. I bought the idea and opted for Abel Ubeku after I equipped him with Divine Knowledge.

What happened next?

What happened next? Abel Ubeku embraced the idea but after his British friends played on his intelligence and ego, he backed out of the offer.

What does Maharaj Ji actually mean by saying that Abel Ubeku's British friends played on his intelligence?

You see, while black man is busy stuffing his pockets with money and consuming anything, everything produced outside Africa, Europeans are continuously consolidating or reinforcing their racist, anti-Africa games. Abel Ubeku was an Oxford University graduate. You know, a typical African who graduates from a top or from an Ivy League University in the Western world gets ego-swollen. He feels big, very special and on top of the world (laughs). So, basically, Abel Ubeku traveled to London and while there, he told some of his fellow Oxford graduates of his decision to step in as Nigeria's Interim President. The clever British guys, knowing what was coming for Nigeria based on Maharaj Ji's backing of Ubeku, convinced Abel Ubeku into believing it was an abomination for an Oxford graduate to be involved in a military government. Ubeku fell to their psychological game and returned to Nigeria to tell Maharaj Ji he was no longer interested.

Really?

Ah! My friend, I am telling you the plain, undiluted truth. The IBB guys on their part were also shopping for a non-politician. They settled for Ernest Shonekan. If Abel Ubeku had not backed down, IBB and his goons would not have been able to plant Shonekan in Abuja as Interim President of Nigeria. With Maharaj Ji backing Ubeku? Their Shonekan idea wouldn't have sailed through. Their Shonekan option would have failed.

So, Shonekan not having Maharaj Ji's backing made it possible for General Abacha to topple Shonekan. Right?

My friend, do you think IBB and his gang would have allowed Ernest Shonekan to get close to Maharaj Ji? Those guys? I told you earlier about a standard diabolical practice of Northern political elites. IBB felt comfortable having Shonekan as Interim President. He had a plan. Abacha was not naive as to the said diabolical practice of the North's political class. Shonekan diligently served British commercial interest in Nigeria like Ubeku did. However, Ubeku was equipped with Divine Knowledge by Maharaj Ji, Shonekan wasn't. So, Shonekan was spiritually vulnerable. That Abacha successfully ejected Shonekan from power is consistent with the fact that Shonekan was highly vulnerable to the feudal North's political diabolism.

(laughs) So, if Abel Ubeku had been Interim President, General Sanni Abacha would not have been able to seize power from him. Is that what Maharaj Ji is saying?

Darkness cannot quit Light! Anybody who is in Light and is subjugated by darkness has himself to blame, not the Light, I am saying that he or she who is in Light can be compromised by darkness only if he or she allows it. Divine Knowledge has three basic and very powerful practical constituents. If you adhere to them as taught or as instructed by Maharaj Ji, nobody can mess you up! Who is that person?!

Did Abacha become friend to Maharaj Ji after he seized power from Shonekan?

No. Abacha had been relating with Maharaj Ji long before that.

Will it then be correct to say that Abacha's closeness to Maharaj Ji made it possible for him to become Head of State?

Interesting. You see, My service to humanity is divine and, I must add, selfless. This person talking to you was chosen and literally subdued to embody The Supreme Source, The Supreme Spirit of Life known as Maharaj Ji in Sanskrit Language — the first and the most powerful language spoken by man. So, Maharaj Ji is like the non-subjective, non-judgmental and emotionless Sun that shines on all — the good, the bad, the ugly. When you visit Maharaj Ji, you cannot leave the same way you came. Some level of empowerment happens but not comparable to what one gets when equipped with Divine Knowledge. So, yes, Maharaj Ji's grace rubbed-off on Abacha and he chose to use it to evict IBB's implant (laughs).

So, what actually happens when Maharaj Ji's equips someone with Divine Knowledge?

Ah! Maharaj Ji literally fills you up with Maharaj Ji. The Light of all possibilities vibrating in the person sitting before you at His highest creative frequency is basically transferred into you. It is fully supplied to your soul and deeply etched in it, making you something beyond human and beyond military! I am talking about receiving Divine Knowledge from Satguru Maharaj Ji, not from any of the Eastern and Western hemispheric sources bearing all manner of names from Maharashi to Maharishi to Maharaja.

What's the difference?

There is a very big difference between a manual transmission car of limited functional-range and an automatic transmission automobile of unlimited operational capacity. Do you get it?

I think I do. I will get back to that later.

Okay.

After General Abacha toppled Ernest Shonekan, did he maintain relations with Maharaj Ji?

Yes, he did. Abacha had high regard for Maharaj Ji. It so happened that he was confronted by adverse forces from multiple fronts. And as someone who was not equipped with Divine Knowledge, he was overwhelmed.

Abacha overwhelmed?

Yes, he was. General Abacha was overwhelmed. It was common knowledge that he had a failing health. He was sick. There were the international forces of sabotage and attrition; the so-called pro-democracy activists being funded by Western governments through serpentine proxies; ambitious and disgruntled military gangs and several others. Abacha had a lot on him.

So, why was he clinging on to power? Why was he killing people who criticized or challenged his grip on power?

Abacha actually wanted to retire from the office of Head of State. He wanted to and he meant it. We had repeated interactions on the question of relinquishing power. General Abacha wanted to hand Nigeria over to a safe and trusted hand. He didn't want Nigeria handed over to rascals, to corrupt politicians and their likes.

Is Maharaj Ji talking about the same Abacha who ordered the murder of Kudirat Abiola and the one who kept Chief MKO Abiola in detention for reasons bordering on his desire to secure his grip on power? Is Maharaj Ji referring to another Abacha?

(laughs) If I ask you who killed 'kpekelemess' — Chief Adelabu, you most likely will go on a long tale and end-up either not knowing who did or mentioning the wrong name. You see, there are tons of things that happen in the corridors of power that; with due respect, ordinary citizens don't know about. The press, most often than not, tells the masses what they — the journalists, think is the truth or what they have been paid, cajoled or threatened to narrate. There are many big games played up there o! If you know the real deal about the killings that happened in the Abacha years, you certainly will not tie all of them to Abacha. I am not saying Abacha was innocent or a saint though? For example, there was a period in this country when Maharaj Ji was announced to the world as a murderer, a cannibal, a blood-sucker and a hypnotizer. At least, you have been here several times and you have not been eaten. Lies! Lies! Lies! Everywhere lies!

LASG Deepens Strategic Partnerships to Accelerate SDGs Implementation

— Stakeholders Pledge Support at High-Level Breakfast Meeting

In a bold move to fast-track inclusive development, the Lagos State Government has strengthened its commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by hosting a high-level Breakfast Meeting with key stakeholders across sectors.

The event, themed “Accelerating SDGs Through Strategic Partnerships,” held at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, was convened by the Office of Sustainable Development Goals and brought together a distinguished mix of diplomats, development partners, civil society actors, private sector leaders, and government officials.

In his keynote address, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule, emphasized the vital role of partnerships in achieving the SDGs. He noted that the State has strategically aligned its development blueprint—THEMES+ Agenda—with the global goals, integrating social inclusion, gender equality, and youth empowerment as core policy pillars.

“Lagos is building a resilient and sustainable city where no one is left behind,” he said. “Our THEMES+ Agenda prioritizes the key elements needed to advance the SDGs—education, digital innovation, green economy, and transportation.”

Highlighting recent milestones, he mentioned the completion of the Blue Rail Line, progress on the Red Line, and the integration of technology into education. He called for greater involvement of all sectors in the SDGs, describing them as a shared mission rather than a government-only responsibility.

“The SDGs require synergy among academia, civil society, the private sector, and development agencies. We must mobilize blended finance, harness innovation, and empower grassroots change-makers to turn bold ideas into scalable impact,” he stated.

Also speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda. She acknowledged the nation’s progress in poverty reduction, gender equality, and education access, but highlighted the significant setbacks caused by global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and regional conflicts.

“These crises have disrupted our systems and strained national resources. If we must meet the SDGs by 2030, intensified collaboration and investment are non-negotiable,” she warned.

She further revealed that Nigeria will present its third Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the United Nations in New York this July, describing it as an opportunity to showcase localized strategies that are working.

Commending Lagos for its exemplary leadership, Orelope-Adefulire described the state as a model for subnational SDG implementation. “Lagos has become a benchmark for how subnational governments can drive SDG impact using data, innovation, and inclusive partnerships,” she said.

In her welcome address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on SDGs, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, described the breakfast meeting as a platform for co-creation and impact-focused dialogue. She emphasized the importance of transitioning from conversation to action.

“The true measure of our progress is in how we shift from dialogue to delivery. We are co-creating programs that directly shape lives across the state,” she said. “Our office remains committed to serving as a convener, connector, and catalyst for sustainable development.”

Dr. Finnih acknowledged the unique development context of Lagos and stressed the need to adapt and scale the SDGs in line with local realities. She called for renewed collective commitment to translate policy into practical, life-changing interventions.

A key highlight of the meeting was the collective pledge by all stakeholders to support Lagos State’s efforts in accelerating SDG implementation and ensuring resilient outcomes for all.

Attendees included members of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, Director-Generals and General Managers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Consular Generals, development partners, private sector leaders, academia, and philanthropists.

The meeting marks another major step by Lagos State in institutionalizing sustainable governance practices and creating inclusive partnerships that deliver long-term development impact.

IBB Should Tell The World The Role He Played In The Death Of King Fahd Of Saudi Arabia - Satguru Maharaj Ji

 Satguru Maharaj J

Founder Of One Love Family and the Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji in this interview, spoke about his relationship and encounter with former military president of Nigeria, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida among many salient issues. Excerpts:

Maharaj Ji, let's hit the ground running. Rumors say you had a close relationship with Ibrahim Babangida while he was military President of Nigeria. How true?

Well, IBB was as close to me as any person who needed or needs my divine backing.

Are you saying you backed IBB to do all he did to Nigeria?

What did IBB do to Nigeria? He militarized the entire country, murdered many, looted the economy, sold Nigeria out to the likes of World Bank and IMF, and tore all that was left of the moral fabric of our society after years of European cultural pollution. No! I did not back IBB to do all that and the many other evils he unleashed on Nigeria as military President.

So, what happened? What kind of backing did you give IBB?

I expected IBB to have included his relationship with Maharaj Ji in his book, the one he recently launched in Abuja. Of course, the serpentine chameleon in him would not allow. IBB sought my protection. I am father to all. I am here to save lives without sentimental subjection on my part.

So, IBB asked for my help. I gave him my terms and conditions. I fulfilled my side of the bargain, that is why he was not overthrown or killed while in power. Ask him if he lived-up to the promise he made to me. I mean, the promise to lead Nigeria positively and progressively. Ask him!

So, you are saying IBB betrayed your trust?

Trust? Well, you may say so. He actually betrayed himself to qualify for a level of karmic consequences due to doers of extreme abominations.

How do you mean?

You see, IBB and his fellows know who Maharaj Ji is. If the struggling masses out there do not know who Maharaj Ji is, IBB and his co-riders in marathon evil who travel across the globe prostituting for spiritual power know who this person talking to you is. Nobody cheats or betrays Light and goes free. It is time for the world to ask IBB the role he played in the death of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia. What about Thomas Sankara of Bukina-Faso? Lamidi Adedibu is breaking stones day and night in another dimension of existence as long-term punishment because of IBB. IBB hired him to organize the assassination of Maharaj Ji. I can go on and on.

Why did Maharaj Ji stop IBB from presiding over Nigeria after he turned his back on the promise he made?

An emotional being will certainly feel bad and act the way you mentioned. Where one operates beyond emotion, it becomes clear to consciousness that a very critical factor in life and in general survival is Balance. The universe or the creation system; if you like, is designed to exist in a state of balance. The power or existential balance could be either adverse or positive. In the IBB case, the political-power-balance prevalent required that IBB be eased out of Aso Rock in 1993 without compromise to Nigeria's corporate existence. So, I opted to replace IBB with someone-else — a face not active in Nigeria's political circle. Unlike IBB, that person was equipped with Divine Knowledge by Maharaj Ji, but he was naive. He initially accepted my offer to have him to succeed IBB as interim President but he subsequently rejected the arrangement after his British friends played a clever one on him in London. He is late now.

Who was that person?

Abel Ubeku, ex-Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria, I think.

Really? So, how did Maharaj Ji protect IBB without equipping him with Divine Knowledge?

I gave him special shoes, special rings and special necklaces. Ask him, if he has any breathe of truth left in his lungs, he may admit it. It was after Abel Ubeku dropped the opportunity to serve as interim President of Nigeria that his colleague in corporate Nigeria, late Ernest Shonekan, was coincidentally chosen to serve in that capacity by the IBB group.

Well, Maharaj Ji, one thing those at the top hold dear is secrecy. My question is, will other highly placed Nigerians not be discouraged from coming to Maharaj Ji, knowing that they might be exposed by Maharaj Ji?

Oh, that’s a very good question. I tell you this, secrecy is critical in life, in spirituality. He who cannot keep secret cannot grow, cannot be entrusted with high or big responsibilities. The IBB case is way different. People like IBB are ones who strip themselves of the garb of secrecy before any other person comes along to take the whole cloth off them. There are lots of well- placed or highly placed Nigerians who have received Divine Knowledge from Maharaj Ji. There are several who pay routine visits and who make frequently phone-calls. No one knows about them, and I certainly will not be the one to announce their friendship with Maharaj Ji. There are far more important things to be done for the safety and positive success of humanity like ensuring IBB does not snake his way to any place of high reckoning. The world needs to know who IBB actually is.

Why IBB?

IBB sought Maharaj Ji's help. He got it and turned-around to not only dump the promise he made to Maharaj Ji to lead Nigeria properly, he went as far as plotting the assassination of Maharaj Ji. Lamidi Adedibu is late but his spirit is here with Me. IBB used Adedibu as head of the local team for the execution of the assassination plot that failed and caused Adedibu to leave us when and how he did.

You mean Adedibu died as a result of serving IBB (interrupts)

Yes. My friend. There is a lot going on underground. Many unspeakable things have been perpetrated by people in high places to the extreme detriment of Nigeria. Ah! What about Abacha? If TB Joshua was alive today, he sure will not allow the truth about the game that took General Sanni Abacha's life to be exposed (interrupts).

Are you saying TB Joshua killed General Abacha?

I am saying that TB Joshua it was who used privileged private access to Abacha to convince Abacha to stop wearing the protective T-shirt I gave him. That was how they were able to get Abacha cheap. Once Abacha became spiritually exposed by dumping the shirt I gave him, the murder-plan designed against him by Western powers, using late Yasser Arafat as special deliverer of the substance and sisters that took his life was set to succeed

How come IBB, whom you said used Adedibu to try to assassinate Maharaj Ji, is still alive not this agent — Adedibu, is dead?

Another good question. You see, IBB will live to see Nigeria set on the path to glory physically before he goes. It is a vow I made to him after he dumped his promise to fix Nigeria. That which he refused to do for Nigeria, he will see happening right before his eyes before he goes to wherever.

Can you tell us about General Abacha's relationship with Maharaj Ji?

General Sanni Abacha was a man of his words. Of course, he had personal weaknesses that caused the generation of the bad press that attended his tenure as Head of State. As far Maharaj Ji's relationship was concerned however, he was far better than IBB.

Can we go back to the King Fahd and Thomas Sankara issue? How was IBB involved in the death of both men?

IBB is alive and competent enough to confess. Let me say briefly. You see, the feudal rulers of Nigeria, particularly the Anglo-Fulani Alliance, run a practice of subjugating and murdering strong and vocal Southern Nigerian elites with extremely heinous diabolical means. Ordinarily, what they do is to call the person's spirit to their demonic sanctum in Sokoto where they kill him off spiritually. Of course, once that happens, the Southerner dies shortly afterwards. Where the man's spirit proves too strong to be cracked in Sokoto, they move the project to Saudi Arabia. It was in the course of one of such trips to Saudi Arabia to crack Maharaj Ji's spirit that the King Fahd matter happened.

Maharaj Ji, please come clear?

I am coming. After they tried repeatedly without success to crack Maharaj Ji's spirit in Saudi Arabia with the assistance of their Saudi colleagues in grand diabolism, Maharaj Ji appeared to them fully. They were shocked! Basically, their Saudi friends asked them if the person they are seeing is the one they said has been disturbing them in Nigeria. They answered Yes. The Saudi guys told them that the person before them is The Great Power — The Imam Mahdi, that they have been expecting for over 300 years. They told their Nigerian colleagues that if they listen to and obey Maharaj Ji's instructions, Nigeria will be a prosperous country in less than a decade. The Saudis did not fail to tell the Northern Nigerian elites who hired them that they will do everything possible to stop Nigeria from taking advantage of Maharaj Ji's presence in Nigeria.

Really?

Of course. The Saudis went on to inform ailing King Fahd about what they had found. King Fahd told them that if what they said is true, they should immediately commence preparation for him to visit Maharaj Ji in Nigeria. He wanted Maharaj Ji to heal him. The Saudis applied for diplomatic access (visa) to Nigeria on King Fahd's behalf. IBB blocked the application. King Fahd subsequently lost his life!

What about Thomas Sankara?

After Thomas Sankara got to know of the colossal volume of money IBB had amassed in France, Sankara approached IBB, urging him to commit the funds to helping Africa. That request by pan-African Sankara literally got IBB to sign his death-warrant. IBB was hands-in-gloves with French authorities as far as the assassination of Thomas Sankara is concerned.

What really happened that you weren't able to arrest one of those soldiers that came to Satguru Maharaj Ji Village to assassinate Maharaj Ji on the 11th of June, 2008?

Thank you for this wonderful question. On the day the incident happened that soldiers bombarded Maharaj Ji village , it was not as if we were unable to arrest at least one of them. The person I was after then was the chief planner of the assassination attempt who happens to be Lamidi Adedibu. I decreed on that day that, he was going to leave this earth on same day of the following year and it came to pass

Late Gov. Ajimobi Sibling, Teslim Writes , Knocks Oyo APC In An Opinion Tagged; PROFESSOR SEYI MAKINDE, THE SCROTUM TARGETER || BY TESLIM AJIMOBI

PROFESSOR SEYI MAKINDE, THE SCROTUM TARGETER || BY TESLIM AJIMOBI

I have been following the political activities of Gov. Seyi Makinde for some time.

The first time I met him was in 2007 at my brother senator Ajimobi, ANPP Campaign guest house around iyaganku ibadan, he sat quietly on bench and the second time was in2015/ 2016 in Lebanon during my brother daughter’s wedding ,he came with Dare Adeleke who introduced me to him.

In 2019 his emissaries in the person’s of Seye and Ayo Alatise came to me at Favos bodija to talk to me to decamp to PDP as Atiku will be coming to ibadan the third day but I declined, though I knew APC will be defeated that time .

He is very quiet person in nature but very dangerous inside, his the type that will eat a delicious food with you today and deal with you the next day.

He is a scrotum targeter. He doesn’t talk too much but knows how to get hold of your scrotum once he identified you as a politician who can contribute to his success in an election .

I have never seen anyone in this world that his scrotum was held on to that will not bend to submission.

He is a SEE and BUY Professor he just bought another Ibadan Chief Akinade Fijabi, he cornered a good friend of mine from Ido not with money though but with developmental projects and the likes of Chief Gboyega Adegoke ,Hon Sugar(Rip) just to mention a few.

While Professor Seyi is busy with his business of see and buy our Aspirants or potential candidates are busy fighting, threatening people, making enemies calling people names instead of turning their enemies to friends .

You can’t eat your cake and have it at the same time. Politics is not for Arcagon ,mannerless, selfish, arrogant and intolerant people It is for people who have time for his people both at the local and state level, and the mekunus helper.

APC leader in oyo should be very careful and keep their scrotum safe and secure because mr scrotum Targeter is watching.

Recognise and Honour June 12 Martyrs, Groups Urge President Tinubu

A coalition of civil society groups has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to formally recognise the activists and martyrs of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, and to erect a monument in honour of the unsung heroes of the struggle—described as Nigeria’s "unknown soldiers."

Comrade Razaq Olokoba, Convener of the Defend Nigeria Movement (DNM) and Nigeria's Unite for Democracy (NUD), made the appeal during a World Press Conference held on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos, as part of activities commemorating Nigeria’s 2025 Democracy Day.

DNM and NUD—coalitions comprising civil society organisations, non-governmental bodies, and public interest groups—organised the event to mark both Democracy Day and the 32nd anniversary of the landmark June 12 election, widely regarded as the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s history, and won by the late Chief MKO Abiola.

In his address, Comrade Olokoba saluted the resilience and determination of the Nigerian people, commending their enduring faith in democracy despite numerous challenges and provocations. He urged citizens to remain steadfast, even in the face of attempts by opportunists to trivialise their hardships for political gain.

He specifically criticised the politicisation of economic hardship through what he termed the "ebi n pawa" (Yoruba for “we are hungry”) narrative, which he described as both a political slogan and a tool of blackmail.

The conference, themed “32 Years After: The Need for Recognition of the Coalition of June 12 Activists and Martyrs by President Bola Tinubu,” highlighted the symbolic importance of June 12 as a unifying force in Nigeria’s political history.

“June 12 has become a symbol of national unity and collective consciousness,” Olokoba said. “It illustrates our ability as Nigerians to rally around shared values and ideology, despite our differences.”

He further noted: “The annulment of the June 12 election marked not only a turning point in our democratic evolution but also symbolised our national resilience, political awareness, and commitment to self-determination. This event has inspired an entire body of literature and remains a key chapter in Nigeria’s democratic history.”

Commending former President Muhammadu Buhari for officially declaring June 12 as a national public holiday, Olokoba acknowledged the move as a significant step in affirming the date’s place in the national consciousness. However, he stressed the need for President Tinubu’s administration to build upon that legacy.

“The June 12 struggle signified a watershed moment in Nigeria’s democratic trajectory, epitomising resistance to military dictatorship and the yearning for good governance,” he said. “Three decades on, the courage and determination that defined that period continue to inspire many.”

He praised President Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange regime.

“These crucial policies have stemmed the massive financial haemorrhaging Nigeria once experienced. The administration has saved the nation approximately $10 billion annually over the past two years, enabling all three tiers of government to receive almost triple their allocations from the Federation Account and, in turn, better deliver the dividends of democracy,” he said.

Olokoba called on President Tinubu to acknowledge the vital role of grassroots activists in the June 12 struggle.

“The heroism of the common people fuelled the movement. Their resilience carried the banner of democracy forward. Their sweat and sacrifice watered the tree of our freedom,” he noted. “There are too many unsung heroes—too many forgotten faces. As someone who played a key role both in the boardrooms and on the streets during that struggle, President Tinubu must give these individuals the recognition they deserve.”

On the matter of national security, Olokoba emphasised the urgent need for government action, advocating for the implementation of State Police and community-based policing.

“Our current security challenges require immediate attention. Technology must be deployed, and communities must be involved. Security should no longer be the sole preserve of government; it must be a collective responsibility, with grassroots and innovative contributions,” he stated.

Tinubu’s Reforms in Oil and Gas Regulation Worth Celebrating — Energy Governance Group

The African Centre for Energy Governance and Accountability (ACEGA) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as groundbreaking and well-coordinated reforms in Nigeria’s oil and gas regulatory framework.

The group said the Tinubu administration’s support for the effective implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and its deliberate push to increase crude oil production are signs of genuine transformation in the energy sector.

In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Dr. Usman Bello Idris, the group said Tinubu’s approach to reform has restored investor confidence, revived production targets, and positioned Nigeria as a more responsible and efficient oil-producing nation.

“For years, Nigeria’s oil and gas sector groaned under inefficiency, uncertainty, and dwindling output. But what we are seeing today under President Tinubu’s leadership is a bold reset — one that respects the sanctity of the Petroleum Industry Act while pushing for real, measurable growth,” Dr. Idris said.

One of the most visible outcomes of the reforms, ACEGA said, is the steady increase in Nigeria’s crude oil production.

Since mid-2023, the country has seen a gradual climb in output levels, breaching 1.7 million barrels per day in recent months — a marked improvement from the lows of 2022 when output plunged below 1.2 million barrels due to theft, vandalism, and poor infrastructure.

Dr. Idris noted that this uptick did not happen by chance but was the result of deliberate interventions supported by Tinubu, including the relaunch of dormant assets, improved metering systems, and coordinated security efforts around critical pipelines.

“Nigeria’s crude oil production had been on life support, but through strategic regulatory leadership and presidential backing, the situation is reversing. Fields are coming back online, theft is being checked, and operators are regaining the confidence to produce,” he said.

ACEGA particularly hailed the president’s strong commitment to implementing the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), signed into law in 2021.

The group noted that Tinubu’s government did not just inherit the legislation; it has gone further to empower the relevant agencies, notably the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), to deliver on its promises.

“We must commend President Tinubu for not sidelining the PIA or paying lip service to its provisions. Instead, he has supported a robust implementation strategy that is already yielding results in licensing, fiscal discipline, community development, and investor clarity,” Dr. Idris stated.

The PIA, which took nearly two decades to become law, was designed to overhaul Nigeria’s oil and gas governance by introducing a transparent fiscal framework, separating regulatory responsibilities, and ensuring that host communities benefit from oil proceeds.

“From the Host Communities Development Trust to new fiscal incentives for marginal fields, and clearer guidelines for environmental compliance, the PIA under this administration is not just a document — it is a living, working tool of reform,” Idris added.

The group also applauded the leadership of Engr. Gbenga Komolafe at the NUPRC noting that his commitment to professionalism and transparency has contributed immensely to the success of the reforms.

It cited the commission’s efforts in reducing production costs, introducing real-time production monitoring, and facilitating a transparent bidding process for oil blocks as exemplary.

“The president has given NUPRC room to work, and they are proving that competent leadership can deliver results. NUPRC’s moves to enforce better metering, clamp down on theft, and promote decarbonisation reflect a forward-thinking agenda aligned with global standards,” ACEGA said.

While commending the gains so far, ACEGA urged the Tinubu administration not to rest on its laurels.

The group said there is a need for deeper investment in energy infrastructure, faster resolution of legacy disputes, and strategic planning for Nigeria’s energy transition in the face of global decarbonisation targets.

“The work is not done yet. Nigeria still faces challenges in refining capacity, gas monetisation, and energy access for its people. But what this administration has shown is that with political will, the sector can be revived. The future of oil and gas in Nigeria can be cleaner, more transparent, and more rewarding for all stakeholders,” Dr. Idris said.

ACEGA concluded by calling on stakeholders in the oil and gas industry — from international oil companies to local investors and host communities — to support the government’s reforms and work collectively to secure Nigeria’s energy future.

$5 Million Scandal: Coalition Accuses NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed of Fleeing Nigeria Under Hajj Cover*

Fresh controversy has emerged over Engr. Farouk Ahmed, the embattled Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), who is now accused of fleeing Nigeria to evade arrest by anti-graft agencies.

According to a statement by the Coalition for Public Accountability (COPA), Ahmed left the country under the pretext of performing Hajj but diverted to a discreet location on an island in the United States.

The development comes amid mounting allegations of corruption, abuse of office, and unexplained foreign education expenses for his children, totalling over $5 million.

The group said Ahmed’s disappearance is a calculated attempt to avoid imminent prosecution following protests and petitions filed against him by civil society and legal advocacy groups.

“We have received credible intelligence that Engr. Farouk Ahmed is not in Saudi Arabia or the UAE as publicly claimed. Instead, he is currently hiding on a private island in the United States,” the statement read.

“This escape was carefully staged to mislead authorities and frustrate ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC),” it added.

The statement, signed by Comrade Ibrahim Adekunle, President of COPA, described Farouk Ahmed’s actions as a desperate flight from justice by a high-ranking public official who has abused the trust of the Nigerian people.

“This is not just a case of moral failure or financial mismanagement. We are talking about a coordinated abuse of public office to fund a luxury lifestyle and foreign education for his children in elite European schools, using mechanisms that appear to have involved financial proxies and undeclared accounts,” Adekunle said.

“His disappearance confirms our fears — that the man has no intention of facing justice and is exploiting diplomatic and procedural loopholes to escape the consequences of his actions.”

Farouk Ahmed had previously come under intense scrutiny following mass protests and detailed petition by the Concerned Lawyers Forum, which accused him of sponsoring the foreign education of four children through untraceable channels. The petition alleged that the funds were inconsistent with his official earnings, and that the transactions had not been declared in his asset filings.

The group also raised conflict of interest concerns, pointing to Ahmed’s alleged influence over the employment of his son, Faisal, at Oando PLC — a company under NMDPRA’s regulatory oversight.

“What we see here is not only a breakdown of accountability but the willingness of a public servant to mislead the nation and compromise national institutions. Nigerians deserve transparency, not cover-ups,” Adekunle said.

“We are calling on the EFCC, ICPC, and the CCB to immediately activate international extradition protocols to bring Farouk Ahmed back to Nigeria to face the law. No one should be above the law.”

The group further urged the Nigerian government to liaise with Interpol and the U.S. Department of Justice to track Ahmed’s exact location and ensure that justice is served.

The group also demanded the immediate freezing of all bank accounts and assets linked to Ahmed and his close associates, pending the conclusion of investigations.

Islamic Group Slams Display of Alcohol, Indecent Dressing at Zamfara Governor’s Second-Term Anniversary Celebration

A prominent Islamic organisation in Zamfara has strongly condemned the events that characterised the celebration of Governor Dauda Lawal’s second year in office

.In a statement released to journalists in Gusau on Friday, the Zamfara Ulama Defence Forum (ZUDF) expressed deep concern over what it termed “an orchestrated reintroduction of vices” into a state widely known for its commitment to Islamic law and traditional values.

According to the group, the anniversary event held in the state capital, featured musical performances accompanied by skimpily dressed female dancers, and the open consumption of alcoholic beverages — acts considered unacceptable under Islamic law and cultural norms in Zamfara.

The president of the group, Sheikh Bashir Mu’azu Marafa, said the scenes that unfolded at the celebration were “unthinkable” in a state that pioneered the implementation of Sharia law in Nigeria.

“It is both unfortunate and shameful that on the second-term anniversary of a sitting governor in a core Islamic state like Zamfara, alcohol was served, and women of questionable character were paraded on public stages in revealing clothes,” the statement reads.

“This is a clear departure from the values we hold dear as a people. Zamfara has long stood as a model for Islamic governance in Nigeria. What happened during that event is nothing short of a betrayal of the trust of the people who expected better from their leaders.”

Sheikh Marafa, a respected Islamic scholar in the state, noted that the presence of entertainers on stage with female dancers dressed in body-fitted attire and short skirts would have been enough to spark outrage in any conservative society, let alone in a state like Zamfara where modesty is a fundamental value.

“Zamfara is not Las Vegas. It is a land of honour, a land of religious discipline. For these kinds of immoral scenes to be playing out in broad daylight under the watch of our leaders is a disgrace,” the Islamic cleric said.

The group warned that the incident could signal a dangerous shift that undermines the efforts of Islamic clerics, scholars, and moral reformers who have worked tirelessly to preserve the values of modesty, morality, and spiritual uprightness in the state.

“What message are we sending to our children and the next generation when those at the top are encouraging moral decay in the name of celebration. If this is what the next four years hold, then Zamfara is on a fast path to losing its identity,” he added.

ZUDF also called on Islamic clerics across the state to speak out against what it described as “the creeping secularisation of Zamfara under Governor Lawal’s administration,” adding that silence from religious leaders at this time would amount to complicity.

“We cannot remain silent and watch Zamfara turn into a hub of entertainment and sin. This is a time for the righteous to raise their voices. We are calling on the governor to offer a public apology for this embarrassment and make a clear commitment to restoring the moral sanctity of public events in the state,” the group added.

The forum urged the state house of assembly, traditional institutions, and community-based organisations to demand accountability from the governor and his team over the coordination and content of the celebration.

“Leadership must be guided by wisdom and humility. The optics of that event were poor and have sparked dismay across the Muslim community not just in Zamfara, but across the north,” the statement added.

The group expressed appreciation to members of the public who raised concerns on social media, especially young people in the state who, it said, were “more conscious of what is right and wrong than the officials entrusted with setting the moral tone”.

“The Zamfara Ulama Defence Forum remains committed to protecting the moral integrity of our communities. We will continue to hold those in authority to account, and we will not stop speaking out against actions that threaten our values and identity as a people.”

*Midterm Performance: North-West Group Slams Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal over Poor Performance Despite Massive FAAC Allocations

Two years after Dauda Lawal took the reins as governor of Zamfara State, a civil society group in the northwest has described his administration as a “monumental failure,” accusing him of squandering the billions received from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) with no visible development to show for it.

The group, Zamfara Progressive Coalition (ZAC), in a statement signed by its president, Alhaji Ibrahim Dan-Azumi, said the people of Zamfara are worse off than they were in 2023 when Lawal assumed office.

The group said despite receiving billions in FAAC allocations within two years, the governor has “chosen pageantry over performance,” spending more time in Abuja than in the state he was elected to govern.

“It is heartbreaking that two years after the election of Dauda Lawal, Zamfara remains a state defined by hunger, fear, and neglect. Billions have come in, but not one major road, hospital, or school has been built or rehabilitated. The people have been abandoned,” the group said.

ZAC said Zamfara has remained one of Nigeria’s most troubled states, facing incessant attacks by bandits, displacement of rural communities, and the collapse of basic public services.

The group pointed to the growing number of out-of-school children, unpaid salaries in local governments, and the worsening security situation as signs of failed leadership.

“We expected a leader who would tackle insecurity with urgency, invest in agriculture, create jobs, and rebuild our broken systems. What we got instead is a part-time governor who prefers the comfort of Abuja to the cries of his people,” Dan-Azumi said in the statement.

“Go to Tsafe, Bungudu, and Maru LGAs — the people are living like refugees in their own land. Bandits collect taxes from farmers, while the government sits idle. Our people are being kidnapped weekly, yet the governor keeps attending ceremonies in Abuja.

“Hospitals across the state lack basic drugs. Pregnant women are dying from avoidable complications. Schools have no chairs, no roofs, and no teachers. Where has the money gone? We demand an audit of all FAAC allocations since 2023.

“The poverty level in Zamfara is among the highest in the country. Young people roam the streets with nothing to do. There are no empowerment schemes, no vocational training centres, and no industrial plans. This is governance by negligence.

“Governor Lawal promised a new Zamfara. What we got is a ghost governor. He shows up in Abuja more than in Gusau. Leadership requires presence, empathy, and accountability. We have seen none of these.

“This is a state with potential. We have gold, agriculture, and a youthful population. But none of this has been harnessed. Instead, what we see is a government that celebrates IGR growth on paper, while the people remain poor, hungry, and forgotten.”

The group said it will begin publishing monthly scorecards of the governor’s activities to keep citizens informed and pressure the government to act.

The coalition also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate how funds allocated to Zamfara in the last 24 months have been spent.

Makinde’s Special Adviser Knocks Wike; Describe him as "Undemocratic and Arrogant,” Personality

The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Federal Constituency Matters, Mr. Dare Adeleke, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of masterminding a plot to “destroy and eliminate all opposition parties” in a bid to make the All Progressives Congress the sole political party in Nigeria.

Adeleke described Wike’s persistent attacks on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party as “undemocratic and arrogant,” alleging that the FCT Minister’s actions are part of a broader scheme to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Condemning Wike’s recent comments, Adeleke said the former Rivers State governor had taken a troubling turn, marked by dishonesty and a growing trust deficit among key PDP stakeholders.

“I strongly condemn Governor Nyesom Wike’s undemocratic and arrogant remarks,” Adeleke said

He behaves as if governance in this country revolves solely around him. We thank Governor Seyi Makinde, who has remained resolute and committed to the truth. Wike’s statements are riddled with contradictions,” Adeleke said.

Adeleke accused Wike of “speaking from both sides of his mouth” by blaming Governor Makinde for frustrating reconciliation efforts and portraying him as the architect of the PDP’s internal challenges.

“As former governor of Rivers State and now Minister of the FCT, he appears to have turned governance into a personal enterprise. I believe President Bola Tinubu should call him to order.”

“How can someone, over personal grievances, seek to destroy political parties?,” he added.

Lawyers, CSOs Hit Abuja Street Over Farouk Ahmed Must Go Protest; Lawyers, CSOs Hit Abuja Street Over Farouk Ahmed Must Go Protest

A group of lawyers and civil society organisations (CSOs) protested in Abuja today, demanding the immediate resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The group known as Concerned Lawyers and Civil Society in Defense of Public Trust alleged that Ahmed had abused his office by using public funds to educate his children in expensive schools abroad, including European University in Montreux, Switzerland, Aiglon College Boarding School in Switzerland, Institut Le Rosey in Rolle, Switzerland, and La Garenne International School in the Swiss Alps.

The protesters, who gathered at the NMDPRA headquarters, claimed that Ahmed's actions were a clear case of corruption and abuse of power. They alleged that the funds used to pay for the children's education were diverted from public coffers and that Ahmed's actions were a betrayal of the public trust.

According to Barr. Martins Adaji, Faisal Ahmed, Farouk's son, was sponsored with public funds to study at European University in Montreux, Switzerland, and later secured a lucrative position in sales at Oando, a company with ties to the oil and gas sector.

Another son, Farouk Ahmed Farouk (Jr.), it claimed, was sent to Aiglon College Boarding School in Switzerland, where the annual tuition and board fees are estimated to be over N300 million.

The protesters demanded Ahmed's immediate resignation, a full-scale investigation into the NMDPRA's financial records, and the recovery of any public funds used to educate his children.

They also called for Ahmed's prosecution under the Public Procurement Act and the Code of Conduct Bureau guidelines.

The protesters further demanded that any recovered funds be channelled to rehabilitate schools in Nigeria's most disadvantaged oil-producing communities.

They warned that if their demands are ignored, they will return stronger, louder, and more resolute, occupying every relevant space to demand justice and accountability.

"This protest is about justice. It is about drawing the line in the sand and saying, 'NO MORE!," Adaji said. "NO MORE abuse of public trust.

"NO MORE luxury for the few while the many wallow in deprivation. NO MORE wasting of public funds while Nigerian university students are stuck at home due to strikes, poor infrastructure, and lack of funding.

"To the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we ask you: will you watch this continue under your administration? Or will you act, and show that your government is serious about transparency and equity?

"Today’s protest is not the end. If these demands are ignored, we will return stronger, louder, and more resolute. Nigerian youths, mothers, and civil society will occupy every relevant space to say: enough is enough.

"We are done clapping for thieves. We are done bowing to men who see Nigeria as their inheritance. Let it be known: Engr. Farouk Ahmed must step down NOW. Not tomorrow. Not next week.

"Not after consultations. He must resign TODAY. He must return every kobo spent on his children’s foreign education. And he must face the full weight of the law. That is the only way the Nigerian people will believe that justice still lives in this land."

How NMDPRA Boss Squandered Tax Payers' billions on Own Children in World’s Most Expensive Schools Abroad

Facts have emerged about how the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, Engineer Farouk Ahmed squandered public funds procuring foreign education for his children in elite international schools that are among the world’s most expensive.

Engineer Ahmed is embroiled in controversy over the mismanagement of funds and embezzlement, which some civil society groups said has primed him plotting to escape the United Arab Emirates.

Reliable sources named the children, Faisal Ahmed, Farhana Farouk, Ashraf Ahmed and Farouk Ahmed Farouk, are all schooling abroad, a luxury that is not available to children in the host communities of the industry that Ahmed oversees.

This allowed Ahmed to confer undue advantage on his children, whom he also lined up for juicy employment in choice organizations. Faisal Ahmed, now based in Nigeria and working in sales at Oando, graduated from the elite European University in Montreux, Switzerland.

A source disclosed that the European University is “highly competitive with an annual acceptance rate of less than five percent of those who applied, which leaves one wondering what evil deals Ahmed struck with the West to fix his ward there.”

In keeping with his high appetite for Swiss institutions for his children, Ahmed used public funds to see Farouk Ahmed Farouk (Jr.) through Aiglon College Boarding School in Switzerland, a school reputed “to be one of the most successful international boarding schools in the world for 12 to 18-years-olds". Farouk’s tuition would have cost not less than N300 million annually for the duration of his stay there.

Not to be outdone, Ashraf Ahmed, had his stint at the Institut Le Rosey, described as “a prestigious Swiss boarding school known for its international community, rigorous academics, and emphasis on holistic development.” Located in Rolle, Switzerland, Le Rosey also has a winter campus in Gstaad. Buoyed by diverted public funds, Ashraf has an MBA in view at Harvard at some point this year.

The source said the Institut Le Rosey “is known for its high annual fees. The cost can be up to N230 million equivalent annually for tuition, room, and board, with Engineer Ahmed likely paying more for other services.”

Farhana lives a royal life, attending La Garenne International School, which describes itself as “nestled in the Swiss Alps, offering exceptional education and boarding for students aged 4 to 18.” Farhana’s attendance at La Garenne was further gilded by taking courses at one of the campuses of NIIT Pune, India.

Nigerian Navy FOB Badagry Arrests and Hands Over 97 Bags of Foreign Parboiled Rice to the Nigeria Customs Service

....191 Wraps of Products Suspected to be Cannabis Sativa to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency

In furtherance of ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime security and suppress smuggling activities within the Badagry–Seme–Porto Novo waterways and adjoining land corridors, the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Badagry has maintained a high tempo of operations. These sustained maritime security activities have resulted in the interception of significant quantities of contraband, including narcotics and foreign parboiled rice, within its designated Area of Operations (AOO).

Specifically, in a series of distinct operations conducted between 26 April and 14 May 2025, the Base’s Quick Response Team (QRT) successfully effected the following seizures:

a. A total of ninety-seven (97) bags, each weighing 50 kilograms, of foreign parboiled rice, intercepted within the Base’s AOO on Saturday, 26 April 2025.

b. One hundred and ninety-one (191) wraps of products suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, with an estimated weight of 114.6 kilograms, seized during three separate operations conducted around the Packo and Bedrome–Ashipa areas between 30 April and 14 May 2025.

c. Approximately three hundred and seven (307) kegs of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), amounting to roughly 7,675 litres, seized in four distinct operations at Simtop Jetty, Tosuvi, Ashikpa, and Panshi between 23 April and 3 May 2025.

In accordance with extant legal frameworks and the Nigerian Navy’s Standard Operating Procedures, the aforementioned ninety-seven (97) bags of foreign parboiled rice were formally handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service, Western Marine Command. Likewise, the one hundred and ninety-one (191) wraps of suspected Cannabis Sativa were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Seme Special Area Command, on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, for further investigation and requisite legal action. Furthermore, the impounded PMS was duly destroyed to prevent its illicit distribution within the AOO.

These achievements are a testament to FOB Badagry’s unflinching commitment to the strategic directives of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, as articulated in the CNS Strategic Directive 06–2023. This directive underscores the imperative of safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime environment in the interest of national security and economic advancement.

FOB Badagry remains resolute in its mission to eradicate smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and other maritime-related crimes. The Base continues to foster robust inter-agency collaboration and nurture trust with host communities, with a view to ensuring sustainable maritime security throughout the region.
