Pro-Tinubu, Pro-Dangote Groups Hold Solidarity Protest at Lagos Assembly

The Nigeria Coalition Group and the Yoruba Council Worldwide have held a solidarity protest in support of the Dangote Refinery and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The demonstration took place at the Lagos State House of Assembly, where the protesters called for stronger government backing for the Dangote Refinery and immediate policy implementation to protect local refining.

Speaking during the protest, the leader of both groups, Aare Oladotun Hassan, urged the Federal Government to enforce a 15% import duty tariff and to implement a total ban on the importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

He also demanded that the government grant 100% crude oil exploration and supply allocation to the Dangote Refinery to enhance its operational efficiency and contribution to Nigeria’s energy security.

Hassan criticized the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by Comrade Festus Osifo, accusing the union of attempting to undermine the refinery through “premeditated orchestrations, deceitful narratives, and unfounded allegations.”

He further alleged that the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) is lobbying the government for an extension of importation waivers until the end of the first quarter of 2026 — a move he said would be detrimental to the refinery and Nigeria’s economic independence.

The protesters were received by Hon. Noheen Adam, who represents Ibeju-Lekki, and the Clerk of the House, on behalf of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. The lawmakers assured the group that their message would be delivered to the Speaker and that they would receive a response in due course.

Hassan emphasized that the coalition’s action was a show of solidarity for both the Dangote Refinery and President Tinubu’s administration, calling for sustained support of local industries as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s renewed hope and economic transformation agenda.

LASG ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS ON SECOND VOLUNTARY LOCAL REVIEW OF SDGs

The Lagos State Government through the Office of Sustainable Development Goals has convened a wide-ranging stakeholder engagement session to review and validate the State’s Second Voluntary Local Review (VLR) of the Sustainable Development Goals, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and evidence-based policymaking.

Declaring the session open at Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, underscored the significance of the review, describing it as a strategic roadmap that strengthens governance, fosters inclusiveness, and ensures that development actions deliver real impact for the people of Lagos.

According to Dr. Finnih, the VLR process goes beyond a mere reporting exercise, serving as a dynamic mechanism that promotes inclusion, accountability, and stronger governance frameworks at the subnational level.

“The Voluntary Local Review, as we know, was introduced to help localize the global development agenda. To turn international goals into real, practical actions that speak to our local realities and aspirations.”

The Special Adviser explained that since the launch of the first Lagos VLR in 2023, the State has deepened efforts to drive inclusive growth across all sectors, scaling up initiatives that reduce inequality, bridge developmental gaps, and promote shared prosperity.

“Our commitment to strategic policy alignment continues to inspire collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and our communities. We are finding smarter and more sustainable solutions to the challenges that affect everyday lives,” she added.

She noted that the 2025 VLR reflects Lagos’ progress and evolving strategies toward achieving the SDGs, supported by robust, up-to-date data and analysis.

The review, she said, integrates the voices of young people, women, and vulnerable groups to ensure that development decisions remain people-centered and inclusive.

Dr. Finnih further emphasized that the validation workshop provides an avenue to strengthen coordination among government, private-sector, and civil-society actors to align budgets, policies, and programmes with the SDG targets.

“As we approach the final stretch of the global SDG timeline, the need to accelerate implementation becomes even more urgent. Your insights, experiences, and feedback are invaluable to making this review meaningful and successful” she urged participants.

In his remark, the Senior Technical Advisor to the Presidency, Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP–SDGs), Dr. Baba Yusuf Yunusa, commended the Lagos State Government for its proactive approach to sustainable development and commitment to evidence-based governance.

He noted that Lagos has become a shining example of subnational commitment to the SDGs, demonstrating both the capacity and political will to localize global development goals and translate them into measurable impact for its citizens.

Dr. Yunusa emphasized that the Voluntary Local Review (VLR) serves as a valuable platform for tracking progress, reviewing key issues, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities to accelerate SDG implementation at the local level.

“The SDGs are ultimately about people, ensuring that no one is left behind in our development efforts. Government at all levels has a critical role to play in mobilizing resources, fostering partnerships, and sustaining political commitment to fast-track progress toward the 2030 Agenda,” he stated.

He reaffirmed that the Lagos VLR not only contributes to Nigeria’s national SDGs reporting but also stands as an exemplary model of how subnational actors can drive sustainable transformation through accountability, inclusiveness, and innovation.

The technical session was conducted by TRUSSVERSE Consulting and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), who jointly facilitated insightful presentations and interactive discussions aimed at validating data inputs, refining key performance indicators, and aligning strategic priorities with the global ambition.

The 2025 Lagos Voluntary Local Review, when finalized, will serve as a critical tool for tracking progress, shaping evidence-based policies, and guiding future development actions across the State.

LASG SET TO COMMENCE STATEWIDE POLIO OUTBREAK RESPONSE TO SAFEGUARD CHILDREN.

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and other Implementing Partners is set to commence a statewide Polio Outbreak Response (OBR) campaign following the detection of an orphan circulating Variant Poliovirus Type 2 (cVPV2) in Makoko, Lagos Mainland Local Government Area.

The outbreak response is scheduled to commence on Saturday, November 8, 2025, as part of concerted national and state efforts to interrupt poliovirus transmission and protect every child from the risk of paralysis.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Ibrahim Akinwunmi Mustafa, mni, routine environmental surveillance had earlier detected the orphan cVPV2 isolation, an indication of potential ongoing transmission in samples collected from the densely populated riverine community of Makoko.

He noted that this discovery underscores the urgency of implementing a rapid and comprehensive response to boost population immunity and prevent further spread of the virus and in a swift move to safeguard the lives of children, the Lagos State Government will conduct two intensive rounds of house-to-house vaccination campaigns across all 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the State.

Dr. Mustafa explained that the campaign will target all children under five years of age, irrespective of their previous vaccination status, to ensure that every eligible child is protected. Each child will receive two drops of the novel Oral Polio Vaccine (nOPV2), which is safe, effective, and approved by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Reaffirming the State Government’s unwavering commitment to protecting the health and well-being of every child in Lagos, Dr. Mustafa stated “Our goal is to ensure that every eligible child in Lagos receives the polio vaccine and remains protected from paralysis.

The detection of this virus is a reminder that polio remains a threat until it is completely eradicated. We therefore urge all parents, caregivers, and community leaders to open their doors to health workers and cooperate fully with the vaccination teams.”

He further added that the State has strengthened its surveillance, vaccine logistics, and risk communication systems to ensure a smooth and successful implementation of the campaign.

Under his leadership, the LSPHCB continues to coordinate with development partners, local government authorities, and community stakeholders to achieve optimal coverage and sustain public confidence in immunization programmes.

Ahead of the campaign, the State Government has engaged critical stakeholders including Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, Market Associations, and Health Workers’ Unions to foster community participation and ownership.

Dr. Mustafa assured that the vaccine to be administered has passed all required safety and quality assurance tests and will be provided at no cost while health workers have been adequately trained on proper vaccine administration, cold chain management, and adverse event monitoring to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

The Lagos State Government urges all parents, guardians, and residents to ensure that every child under five years old receives the two drops of the polio vaccine during this campaign.

Full cooperation from households and communities is vital to keep Lagos polio-free and safeguard the health of future generations.

Agbakoba: Devolution Key to Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, has renewed his call for the decentralisation of governance in Nigeria, warning that the country's democracy will remain fragile without the devolution of power from the federal government to states and local councils.

In a policy paper titled “Devolution is the Solution – Foundational Reform Agenda for Nigeria’s Transformation”, Agbakoba argued that the 1999 Constitution has failed to empower local governments, primarily due to lack of funding and over-reliance on higher tiers of government.

“The structure of our Constitution does not empower local governments to perform. They are financially handicapped and politically subjugated. Without fiscal autonomy, no meaningful development can happen at the grassroots,” he said.

According to Agbakoba, Nigeria’s current system concentrates excessive authority at the centre, rendering states and local governments ineffective. He said this centralised structure has stifled innovation, hampered regional development, and contributed to insecurity and economic stagnation.

“To make democracy work for Nigerians, we must devolve power closer to the people,” he said. “Each level of government should have clear constitutional roles and financial independence to deliver on their mandates. Devolution will not only deepen democracy but also strengthen accountability and national integration.”

He called on the National Assembly to pursue comprehensive constitutional reforms to correct the imbalance in power distribution and restore citizens’ confidence in governance.

Agbakoba stressed that Nigeria’s long-term transformation depends on adopting a truly federal system that fosters inclusivity, efficiency, and equitable resource control.

Civil Society Groups Warn Senate: Stop Central Gaming Bill, Respect Supreme Court Judgment

A coalition of civil society organizations, legal activists, and concerned citizens has issued a strong-worded call to the National Assembly—particularly the Senate—demanding an immediate halt to what they described as a “voyage of legislative rascality, recklessness, provocation, and lawlessness” over the proposed Central Gaming Bill.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the coalition condemned the National Assembly's attempt to reintroduce federal legislation on lottery and gaming—a matter already resolved by the Supreme Court. The group accused lawmakers of trampling on the Constitution and disobeying binding judicial authority.

Supreme Court Already Settled the Matter

The controversy stems from the November 22, 2024, ruling of the Supreme Court, which unequivocally declared the National Lottery Act 2005 unconstitutional. In a unanimous verdict, the apex court ruled that the National Assembly lacks the power to legislate on lotteries and gaming activities outside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as these matters do not fall within the Exclusive or Concurrent Legislative Lists in the Nigerian Constitution.

The court granted multiple orders, including a perpetual injunction restraining federal authorities from implementing or enforcing any aspect of the now-nullified law in states outside Abuja.

"A Direct Assault on the Constitution"

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, a spokesperson stated:

> “This move by the National Assembly, particularly the attempt by the Senate to consider the Central Gaming Bill already passed by the House of Representatives, is an affront to the Constitution, a violation of the Supreme Court judgment, and a threat to national peace and democratic governance.”

The coalition insisted that the Supreme Court's judgment is final and binding under Sections 6(6)(b), 235, and 287 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), and therefore cannot be circumvented or invalidated by legislative action.

> “Unless and until the Constitution is amended to include lottery, gaming, or gambling in the Exclusive or Concurrent Lists, the National Assembly cannot legislate on these matters for the states. To attempt otherwise is legislative overreach, and we say: Enough is enough,” the statement added.

Demands to the Senate and House of Representatives

The coalition issued two primary demands:

1. An immediate end to the consideration of the Central Gaming Bill by the Senate.

2. A public apology from the House of Representatives to the Nigerian people for what the coalition described as "an assault on legislative integrity, honour, and national security."

> “The Senate now has a golden opportunity to withdraw from this illegal process. Failure to do so will be seen as complicity in undermining the authority of the judiciary and the sanctity of the Constitution,” the spokesperson warned.

Wider Implications for Federalism and Rule of Law

Legal experts present at the briefing emphasized that the ongoing legislative efforts not only violate constitutional boundaries but also pose a serious risk to the federal structure of Nigeria.

> “This is not just about lottery. This is about setting a dangerous precedent where lawmakers can ignore constitutional limits and override the judiciary. If this is allowed to stand, no state will be safe from federal overreach,” said one constitutional lawyer in attendance.

The press conference concluded with a call on all democratic stakeholders—including the judiciary, state governments, the media, and the Nigerian public—to remain vigilant and resist any attempt to erode constitutional governance and judicial authority in the country.

Why churches must partner with govt on security – Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Bishop Mike Okonkwo speaking at FOTA anniversary in Lagos

The  Presiding Bishop, The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) Mike Okonkwo, Founder of Revival Assembly Ministries International, Apostle Anselm Madubuko, and  Founder and Senior Pastor of the Foundation of Truth Assembly (FOTA), Rev. Yomi Kasali, have tasked Nigerian churches on partnering with governments to fight insecurity.

They made the call at the opening  ceremony of the Giant Killers Conference 2025, organised by FOTA in Lagos on Wednesday night.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the church is also using the conference to mark its 20th anniversary.

Okonkwo said government alone cannot handle the challenges of insecurity which had become a national concern.

He said that though security is the responsibility of government, Nigerians and churches must join hand to arrest the situation.

He said: “The only way the church can assist  is to partner with the government and speak up where there is insecurity and not try to hide behind the curtain.

“Churches must speak up and be forthright, speak to powers that be, so that the government will also begin to take on their responsibility.

“As a matter of fact, it’s the government’s responsibility to provide security for the citizens. And so they need to know that  citizens are very concerned that they are not carrying out their responsibility.

“At every level.pf governance, those who cannot perform should step down from the position and allow more capable hands to take over. There is no need of buying the position where you are not performing.”

The bishop blamed Churches for the inability to rightly impact on citizens through their sermons

“The Church is a powerful voice and the  voice of God here on earth. And as a result, when we preach Christ, who transforms life to our congregation, which more or less is the grassroots, they occupy the different offices in different places in society.

“And when their lives are transformed the way it ought to be, automatically, wherever they find themselves, they’re going to also dispense that life. And it will affect the society.

“So obviously, like I’ve said in different forums, many people who are doing the wrong thing in the public sector and in society are answering James, John, Mary, Martha, they go to church.

“So the question is why are you then not doing what is right in the society? So that means that the message has not really gone down the way it ought to,” he said.

According to the bishop,  there should be emphasis through the Church back to the basics that our people must understand that church does not end in the four walls of the building.

On his part, the founder of Revival Assembly Ministries International, Madubuko, said the church needs  to pray for leaders to wake up to their responsibilities.

He said: The church is supposed to be the strongest because of Jesus but because we have gone the other way. Just like Bishop  Okonkwo said, our responsibility is to grow in the knowledge of Jesus.

“And it is this knowledge that builds us up. So when the church begins to grow in this knowledge, then the church will have its mojo back.”

On insecurity, Madubuko said  prayers are needed for God’s  intervention.

“There’s nothing one can do about it. Just pray that God will wake up the people on duty and let everybody be on his duty post.”

Kasali, said the government could  do much more to address the insecurity in the country.

He charged the church to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

“The same things we’ve said over time that the church is the  salt of the earth and the light of the world that we should be able to impact our nation, our communities.

“Right now we have the biggest churches in town, the biggest pastors, the biggest ministries but our impact is not as much held in our society.

“It’s important for us to try as much as possible to let our impact be felt beyond buildings and beyond big names. And that’s what Bishop said, and I truly concur with that thought and that opinion. That’s ours as well.

“As giant killers, we believe that there are always problems in every nation, and we should just go in there boldly.”

According to Kasali,  we should hope and , believe  that we are David, and the Goliaths in this nation facing us. We can bring down Goliath.

“Faith, integrity, honesty, faith in God’s word, faith in everything that we believe and we should have faith in this nation. Have faith in Nigeria again. Whatever is confronting us as a nation, we can bring them down with a stone and a slingshot.

“The Church is a moral institution, and we hope that the Church and its leaders and its members can go out there and become salt, not just sugar. That’s how we can impact and make positive impact in this nation. Pretty much, that’s how we can do it.

“Government can do much more. They are trying, they are making the effort but I know they can do much more. And they are doing their best, and they are doing their bit but I believe they can do much more.”

Also speaking, Kasali’s wife, Pastor Funke Kasali said part of the programme is to seek God’s face and intervention in the affairs of Nigeria.

She said: “As a wife and a mother, the killing of innocent Nigerians breaks my heart.

“The victims of kidnapping, murder, rituals, banditry and robbery could have been anyone.

“It is sickening and sad and we are tired of it. We need total overhaul of the system, parents must play a role on their children’s upbringing and instilling values,  while schools and churches should help the children to retain those values.”

The commissioning ceremony, held in Lagos, drew an array of stakeholders, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across the industry, underscoring the strategic importance of the institute in national development.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, expressed deep satisfaction with the transformation of the facility, recalling its poor state at the time he assumed office.

> “I’m very happy today because I remember when I first visited this place after assuming office, my initial reaction was that human beings could not work here. It was not a conducive environment,” he said.

Acknowledging the funding challenges under the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr. Fagade commended President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing efforts to make resources available, despite economic constraints.

> “The Renewed Hope Agenda has been challenging, particularly in terms of funding, but President Bola Tinubu is doing all he can. Despite these constraints, we were able to complete this renovation project, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved.”

Dr. Fagade also emphasized the importance of recognizing incremental progress.

> “Some may wonder why we are celebrating this, but I always tell people—if you don’t celebrate the little wins, you won’t be ready for the big ones. This renovation is a starting point, and there’s more to come. This event is also a way to draw national attention to the tourism sector—to show that despite the country’s challenges, we are making tangible progress.”

Among the dignitaries present was the Oba of Odi-Olowo Kingdom, HRM Oba Olamide Ayinde, who praised the initiative and the Director-General’s leadership.

> “I pass through this area often, and I never even knew something like this existed here. But seeing this improvement today, I know it can only grow bigger and better. I want to thank Dr. Fagade for this great work. The building before was nothing to write home about, but now there is a clear change. I pray God gives him the wisdom to do even more,” the monarch stated.

Also lending his voice, Chief Ganiyu Olalekan Bakare, the Aro Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, highlighted the role of institutions like NIHOTOUR in driving tourism development.

> “Tourism is about movement, enjoyment, and exploration. But we need proper regulation and trained professionals to make it successful. Institutions like NIHOTOUR are essential for producing skilled graduates who will drive our tourism and hospitality industry forward.”

In her remarks, the Zonal Director of Operations, Mrs. Uche Ibeabuchi Chinyere, expressed pride in the transformation achieved under Dr. Fagade’s leadership.

> “I am very happy this is happening under my watch. If you knew the state of the office before, you’d understand why this is a big deal. It was not a place we could proudly show to guests. But now, we have a conducive environment that inspires us to do our best.”

She also offered prayers for the Director-General, wishing him a long and successful tenure marked by wisdom and impactful leadership.

The renovation of the Lagos office forms part of NIHOTOUR’s broader strategic plan to reposition hospitality and tourism training in Nigeria. Dr. Fagade reassured attendees that more projects are in the pipeline to align the institute’s infrastructure and programs with global best practices.

With the upgraded Lagos facility, NIHOTOUR is now better equipped to train world-class professionals and contribute more significantly to the growth and development of Nigeria’s tourism industy

Controversy Trails Selection of New Odemo of Isara-Remo*

Isara-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The passing of the Odemo of Isara-Remo on May 1st, 2025, was a moment of deep mourning for the town, sadly however, the succession process that followed has since sparked controversy, anger, petitions, and widespread public discontent.

By custom and tradition, the Odemo stool rotates among six ruling houses of the town, with this cycle falling on the Otete ruling house, which presented seven eligible candidates in no particular order:

1. Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Sonupe

2. Engr. Oladele Amoda

3. Dr. Kehinde Osifade

4. Olakunle Sodipe

5. Adesina Sodipe

6. Bashorun Oluwole Ogunbayo

7. Otunba Fatai Sowemimo

According to the rules, each contestant was initially required to procure the stool contestant form at ₦5 million as part of the screening process, though reports revealed that the fee was later reduced to ₦500,000 after consultations.

In accordance with the Yoruba tradition and culture of which Remo is, the selection of an Oba is guided by Ifa divination rather than voting. According to sources, the Oracle was consulted twice in public view, and a ranking was provided. The divination reportedly placed Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Sonupe first, followed by Engr. Oladele Amoda and Dr. Kehinde Osifade. Other candidates such as Olakunle Sodipe and Adesina Sodipe were ranked in the order of 4th and 5th, while Bashorun Oluwole Ogunbayo and Otunba Fatai Sowemimo placed 6th and 7th respectively.

The Oracle was also said to have warned that the distortion and manipulation of the process other than as divinely chosen, would bring hardship, unrest and discomfort to the town a concern that some residents took to heart religiously.

On September 8th 2025, during the scheduled selection at Isara palace, residents were unsettled by the presence of multiple uniformed operatives and even an armored vehicle. While officials described it as a routine security measure for peace and order, eyewitnesses interpreted it as a tactic of intimidation.

At the conclusion of proceedings, Bashorun Oluwole Ogunbayo, a real estate businessman, was announced as winner with all nine kingmakers reportedly voting in his favor. Allegations quickly surfaced that each kingmaker had been offered ₦10 million and a parcel of land. Later that evening, Ogunbayo was escorted into the Ipebi seclusion chamber, sparking fresh uproar, controversy and discontent.

The outcome has been met with discontent among indigenes at home and abroad. Critics argue that tradition was disregarded, the Oracle’s guidance ignored, and undue influence brought to bear on the process. They note with concern that the candidate ranked second to the last by Ifa divination has now been declared the town’s monarch.

Several diaspora groups have petitioned Governor Dapo Abiodun, appealing him to investigate the process, halt what they describe as a "manipulation and imposition,” and ensure that the sanctity of the Isara Remo tradition is respected and upheld.

For now, Isara-Remo remains on the edge, tense and divided between those who support the declaration of Ogunbayo, and those who insist the Ifa verdict and due process must be respected to preserve the dignity of the Odemo stool for the peace, progress and prosperity of Isara Remo.

‎EKITI MONARCH CONDEMN ALAAFIN STATEMENT SAYS LEADERSHIP IS NOT BY FORCEFUL ENTHRONEMENT

*OONI'S ROYAL TERRITORIES STEM BEYOND YORUBALAND

The attention of the Adimula Oloore Oodua, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti and paramount ruler of Mobaland House of on the media attack by the Alaafin's palace on the House of Odùduwà, which transcends beyond the shores of Yorubaland into the wider African space, cutting across the Itsekiri in Delta State, Benin Kingdom, Ga tribe in Accra Ghana, Ashante Kingdom of Kumasi, Ghana as well as the LUO tribe in Uganda, Ga-Adangbe tribe in Ghana, and many more, in which the Arole Odùduwà Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, D.Litt, CFR, Ojaja II, that Ooni does not have the power to confer the title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland.

Akogun Banjo Ayinde, Chief Press Secretary to Oore & paramount of Mobaland says for the avoidance of doubt, Ooni has never conceived it, talk less of installing anybody as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland. "We therefore challenge anyone with verifiable evidence that Ooni has traditionally or culturally installed such a title on anyone to present it to the public".

"It is important to note that as the Natural Father of the Yoruba race and spiritual head of Odùduwà race worldwide, the Ooni wields unequivocal authority to bestow titles of territorial relevance if and when necessary. However, His Majesty’s vision and preoccupation are far greater than minor chieftaincy titles. His focus rests on the larger task of unifying our people across Nigeria and Africa who trace their origin to Ilé-Ifẹ̀ for peace, progress, and development that far transcend such narrow contestations".

He says, since ascending the throne of Odùduwà, Ooni has carried out only three official territorial chieftaincy installations namely; The Odole Oodua, Iyalaje OODUA and Yeye Oodua all deeply rooted in spiritual and ancestral imperatives, which Baba Ooni had bestowed on Sir Dr Adebutu Kensington, Princess Dr Toyin KOLADE and Erelu Abiola Dosumu respectively.

"Our father Ooni, revered not merely as a king but as a deity across the Oduduwa race of which Yoruba is a notable section, does not distribute titles frivolously.Apart from the proposed Ojaja Smart City, Ibadan, the biggest  in Africa which will provide not less than 20000 jobs, Ooni has already established Inagbe Grand Resort in Lagos, Ife Grand Resort and Industrial Hub in Ile-Ife, Ojaja University in Ilorin, Kwara state, Ojajamoore and Ojaja Park and Hotels in Akure, OjajaMoore in Ede, Ile-Ife and Osogbo in Osun creating over 5000 direct jobs for Yoruba youths. He is also constructing a massive Ojaja Park in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state. That is leadership". The statement reads.

"We must put a clear end to the fruitless struggle for emperorship ; an idea long eroded by constitutional democracy. Where are the great empires of Shongai, Mali of Mansa Musa, Roman empires, Othman empires and others today? Those eras of conquering territories through invasion by gorrilarism are gone. If anyone must wage war over territorial rights, let it be with colonialists who had taken the absolute powers of monarchies and emperors and replaced it with what they called constitutional governments not only in Nigeria but globally and not with Oonirìnsà, who has always stood for unity and progress.

The descendants of Oduduwa home and in diaspora know their natural father and they know where they all migrated from; hence, there is no contestation over Ooni’s place as the Arole Odùduwà. Leadership is never by forceful enthronement nor by empty threats, but by service, wisdom, and natural acceptability. Look at the way Ooni travels around the showcasing the Africanist substance, she how he creates businesses scattered across Yorubaland providing jobs for our youths. That is leadership!

We advise the public and right thinking members of society to demand clarity on the referenced Supreme Court judgment being mischievously cited, to know exactly who and what it referred to, so as not to rope Ooni into matters that have no bearing on his sacred stool. Or doesn't he have the right to appoint Dotun Sanusi as Okanlomo Oodua?

In this 21st century where royal fathers across the world are strategizing on how to attract investments, foster unity, and build sustainable development in their domains, reducing the sacred institution of kingship to petty quarrels over minor titles is not and will never be on Ooni’s table. He is well above that.

The House of Odùduwà remains committed to peace, unity, and prosperity across Yorubaland and beyond.
