Hon. Akeem Ige leads Lead City SRC To Donate For St. Anne's School, Visits victim of Robbery Attack

Speaking at the event the Vice President Lead City University Student Representative Council (SRC) Dapo Durosaro, said the maiden program of the student body sponsor by eminent Nigerian in donating education materials is to serve as motivation and help the students to showcase their talents.
Dapo also noted that the material will also add to value of the school and enhance teaching process of the teachers.
He however described the donor of the materials, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige as a good representative at the state house of assembly who has catch a niche for himself right from his days as Ibadan South East council boss and still supporting students in no measure.
Hon. Akeem Ige ,representing South-East constituency 11 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, said  that the essence of leaning as students is to be expose to modern day learning materials, saying the idea of embarking on a community service for secondary schools in Oyo State is to serve as motivational and help the students to showcase their talents.

 Hon. Akeem Ige also disclosed the State Assembly has set up a committee called Oyo state Educational Trust Fund and passed a bill into law to look into how the #1,000 levy collecting from the students will judiciously used for its purpose which is the development of the education in the state and to be channel to other state use, which he claimed that the executives has promise to handover the money generated so far to the Educational Trust Fund committee.

Also speaking was the principal of the school, Mrs. Otetile appreciate the students of Lead city students representatives council for their selfless service and commitment to improve the education sector of the state with their own gesture.
“What we are expressing today at St. Anne’s school is remarkable from the students by giving out to the society at their own level and the students too are looking up to them as a model which is quite impressive”. She said.

Mrs. Otetile however pray for success and breakthrough in all the students endeavors.

In his vote of thanks, Goodswill Gbehinbo, President Students Representative council (SRC) of the Lead City University, Ibadan expresses joy and appreciation to the school authority for allowing them and to Hon. Ige for his kind gesture.



In a related development, the Hon. Akeem Ige led opthe top management of the school to a hospital where two youth corps members and a night guard were being hopitalised since last night over a robbery attack that took place on the school.

Recalling their ordeal with the armed robbers, both Adeosun  Adeola a graduate of English Education from Obafemi Awolowo University and  Soremekun Timilehin, an English Lingusitics graduate of Redeemer’s University, narrated that the robbers numbering about six (6) came to their room while asleep and started harassing them before they were wounded and matcheted.

While the night guard, Mr Ishola Olaitan also said six members of the gang ambushed him, pinned him down and injured him on his head in is struggle with the robbers but was overpowered and fainted before he was rushed down to the hopitald in the same midnight.

They all thank the honourable member of the state house of assembly, Akeem Ademola Ige for his mild touch and gesture.

The authority of Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State led by Pastor Jesutoye Oluyinka, has completed necessary arrangement towards restoring the abandoned Medical Centre located at Elega village.

He made this disclosure on Tuesday during his visit to the centre which had suffered up to 6years of abandonment by successive administrations.

The chairman, however reiterated that the revitalisation of the abandoned medical centre built by federal government was borne out of the dire need to address the health challenges of his people.

“Our decision is borne out of the need to cater for, not only Elega village, but the people of Owode, Ibere, Ilofe, Oke-Awo, Olorunda, Oniru and Jobi amongst others", he said.

Ara, goddess of Talking drum Sets to Rule The world Again


The first female talking drummer, Aralola Olamuyiwa is leaving no stone upturned to take the entertainment scene again with his wild wind moves in recent time.
Aralola Olamuyiwa who has once took over all the international communities with her talking drum which earned her the prestigious Ambassador of United Nations.
Ara is now putting everything in place to debut her first movie, “Osunfunke” which will hit the shelves anytime soon.
The new movie, Osunfunke is about a home groomed Osogbo girl.
Starring in the film includes Baba Wande, Peju Ogunmola, Yemi Shodimu, Ricardo Agbor and the talented hip hop star, Olamide among several other nollywood stars. The film was directed by D.J Tee.
Aralola discovered herself since her childhood days, at age 5 and later picked the onetime sole ly men’s affair and began to make waves with it in every corner of the world.
Speaking with us , she further explained that her silence over the time is not as if nothing is moving but she is taking her time to come out with the very best songs or  movie that can be accepted anywhere in the world.
In view of this, the multi-talented first female talking drummer is meeting with the journalist, addressing the world on her latest effort, “Ara De”, her new movie Osunfunke and other sundry issues shall be discuss.

Glowing Record Ogo Oluwa LG council Boss in Oyo State

Glowing‬ record of Pastor Jesutoye Oluyinka Inaolaji, Caretaker Chairman, Ogo Oluwa Local Government, Oyo State.

Some people are born great, while others achieve greatness by dint of hard work. People make time and time honours men.
Pastor Jesutoye Oluyinka Inaolaji was never born great but he has achieved greatness by dint of hard work and divine mercy from the All sufficient God. He has created history, printed his name in the sand of time and carved a niche for himself.
His object in the governance of Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State is the greatest happiness of the whole and not that of any one class.
Born on April 25, 1967 in Elega, Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State. Jesutoye Oluyinka began his educational career at Baptist Primary School, Elega between 1973 and 1978 for his Primary Education. He latter proceeded to Baptist Secondary School, Ola-Ejigbo for his Secondary Education and finished in 1985.
He was at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo between 1986-1989 and 1991-1993 for his Nigeria Certificate in Education and Bachelor of Science Education in Geography respectively.
Oluyinka was unstoppable on his way to academic attainment, and in his quest to acquire more education, he went further to bag his Master of Science degree in Geography at the prestigious University of Ibadan between 1995-1997.
It was still onward to higher heights for the now zestful and highly young man called Jesutoye Oluyinka, the well groomed and honed administrator was entrusted with the highly demanding tasks in his chosen career.
* Secretary, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), NNPC Ore Depot 2011-2014.
* Zonal Financial Secretary, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Western Zone 2015- Till Date.
However, as with most ambitious people with increasing achievements, there came increasing hunger for more conquests and a broadening of horizons which launched him into the corporate world of entrepreneurship and business where his quest for success translated into a trade-mark. His business concern gave birth to NICOFEM Oil & Chemical Marketing Company Ltd and First Divine Glory Venture Ltd.
Not because of the sleazy lucre associated with politics in Nigeria, but blessed with a passion to lift the fortunes of his community and people, thus primed and ready to make meaningful contributions to the task of nation-building, he joined active politics and served in various capacities which include:
* Leader, All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) between 2007-2009.
* Active and influential stakeholder, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Ogo Oluwa Local Government- 2010.
* Active and influential stakeholder, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogo Oluwa Local Government.
* Zonal Liaison Officer to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Ogo Oluwa/ Surulere Federal Constituency, 2014-2015.
He is a replica of success and epitome of celebrated achievements who has contributed positively to the development of his constituency. His achievements speak volumes of his tenacity, brilliance and innovativeness.
To the glory of God, Pastor Jesutoye Oluyinka Inaolaji is the newly appointed Transition Committee Chairman, Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State, Nigeria. Jesutoye is happily married to his heart rib, Omolayo and blessed with wonderful children.

CBAAC DG HONOUR AS AARE AGBASA GA OF YORUBALAND

The Director general of the center for black and African Civilisation,
Dr. Ferdinand I Anikwe KSJI,JP was recently honoured by the supreme
council of Yoruba Council of Youths (YCY) for his contribution to the
growth and development o the culture sector both in Nigeria and in
diaspora.

The National President if YCY, Barr. Oladotun Hassan while presenting
the award titled Aare Agbe Asaga of Yorubaland to him said the
prestigious award was given to the CBAAC director general in view of
his great and impeccable achievement in the cultural sector and in
promotion of Black and African heritage withing his short period of
time in office.

Barr. Olafotun emphasised that, Dr. Anikwe has continue to champion
the course of driving the economy o Nigeria and Africa through
culture. It is only through cultural diplomacy that Africa can
successfully engage the world. He said.

Speaking in response to the award given to him, the new Aare Agbe
Asaga of Yorubaland, Dr. Ferdinand I . Anikwe KSJI, JP said he was
highly delighted by the honour done to him by the Yoruba Council of
Youth and promise to do his best in promoting culture and tradition in
all black nations all over the world.
Dr. Anikwe, a respect and hardworking CBAAC DG is also the current
chairman of Pan African Cultural Congress (PACC).

 Visited Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Atanda Olayiwola Lamidi Adeyemi
III, in continuation of his visit to key traditional Royal  father's
in Nigeria in search for knowledge and enlightenment on the history of
Nigeria in relating to cultural values of different ethnic groups in
Nigeria.

While assures Alaafin that the agency work towards harnessing cultural
festivals of in the next year budget .

Ooni, Ashafa Wants Revisit of Nigeria Education Language Policy

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 11 and Senator Olugbenga Ashafa representing Lagos East have called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to revisit the country’s education language policy to prevent extinction of indigenous languages in Nigerian.
Ooni said indigenous language is the beauty of culture and moral values and promised to convene a stakeholder conference on the status of Yoruba language in Nigeria.
Ogunwusi, and Ashafa made case for the promotion of Yoruba language during this year International Mother Tongue Day organised at Ife city, Hall Ile- Ife Osun State, by Jabulani Media Link.
According to Ogunwusi, poor status of Yoruba as language of education has constituted hindrance to culture and tourism development adding that most of educated elites are not familiar with the rudiment of Yoruba culture and tradition.
Oguwusi said promotion of Yoruba language will form part his peace and development to integrate all Yoruba race across the globe.
Senator Ashafa who was represented at the event by Professor Orimogunje Oladele to deliver a lecture on the Role of Legislature in Promoting Indigenous Language in Nigeria said regardless of legal instrument in support of Yoruba language disposition of the elites especially in academic community by developing modern literatures and see Yoruba as a language of pride.
He identified inferiority complex of Yoruba speakers against English language as one of the danger against the survival of Yoruba language and urged the Ooni of Ife to work together with South West Governors, Traditional Institutions and State Assemblies to formulate a programme of actions that will sustain the existence of the language.
Guest Lecture Professor Adeniyi Harison said various studies have proved that mother tongue is best language of education to facilities better understanding of the students at the elementary level.
He made reference to Ife project of late Professor Aliu Babatunde Fafunwa of 1975 where students that were thought with Yoruba language perform far better in sciences and mathematics than their colleagues thought with English language adding that most developed countries  such as China and India are  using indigenous languages which has expanded their economy beyond imagination.
He blamed European infiltration and deficient education language policies in Nigeria for the poor status of the language and encouraged the youths increase their passion in study Yoruba at university level.
Executive Secretary of Jabulalani Media Link, Afolabi Jolaoluwa while lunching 1Million stickers to stimulate speaking Yoruba language said the event will be organised annually to promote Yoruba language and culture.
Dignitaries at the event include the Osun State Former Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, represented by Babatunde Ayanlade, Professor Kola Oyewo, Pa Peter Fatomlola among others.

Climate change Adaptation project kicks off in Ibadan

Climate adaptation project has kicked off in 12 secondary schools in Ibadan South East local government of Oyo state.

The idea initiated by a non governmental Organisation, Connecting Hearts Initiative headed by Mrs Okutinyang Abimbola in conjunction with UNDP, Global Environmental Facility, GEF Small Grants Programme and the participating schools.

Speaking at the Flagg off of the program, Mrs Kutinyang explained that the idea of the project is to further compliment the efforts of the Oyo state government in containing global warming .

She said, "Climate change  and global warming has been the major environmental challenge. This refers to a increase in average global temperatures".

She further explained that the goal obrhe project is to promote planting of economic trees to address environmental problems in these 12 schools, build capacity to raise and plant 100 each of Dongoyaro, Almond tree, orange, grape and Gmelina trees, as well to expand irrigation facilities to support tree nurseries in schools.

"The project covers the period  of 24 months and at the end 9,600 pupils in 12 schools would have access to portable water, increase income generation of 75,000 for each school from sales of tree seedlings as well as establishing 12 climate change clubs for the sustenance of the project".

The special guest of honour  and the wife of the governor o Oyo State, chief mrs Florence Ajimobi, lauded the initiator of the project Mrs Abimbola for the idea.

She however promise government support in anyway to encourage her in actualising the dream. Among the entourage ;of the first Lady is the wife of Deputy governor, Mrs Janet Adeyemo, APC women leader, wife obthe oyo state SSG Bolanle Ali and Barr.Rose Oyedele.

Others at the event include Dr. o. Ajala from forestry research institute of Nigeria, FRIN, UNDP rep. Aanu Akintola among others

41st OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND TO BE INSTALL FRIDAY MARCH 4

All is set for the coronation of the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 4th of March, 2016.

Speaking at the press conference to herald the installation and presentation of staff of office Olubadan, the chairman planing committee and the Otun Olubadan, High chief (senator) Lekan Balogun, explained to journalists today at Mapo hall.

He took time to explain that their is no going back in: installing the next Olubadan, High Chief Saliu Akanmu Olasupo Adetunji, the current Balogun of Ibadanland having satisfied all the conditions precedent.

He said, "it is statutory that and common knowledge that contenders to this stool invariably are rooted essentially in the two approved lines I.e Otun Olubadan and Balogun lines with each line having 22 and 23 reps respectively on its ladder".

He explained further that the Seriki issue contending for the stool of Olubadan is morally sound, saying Seriki and Iyalode are not included in the ladder of becoming Olubadan in Ibadan according to 1957 law declaration.

"Seriki can join the lines of Balogun while iyalode belongs to the lines of Otun Olubadan, so both Seriki and Iyalode are not separate lines".

The installation and presentation of Olubadan is schedule to take place by10am, Friday 4th March, 2016 at Mapo Hall arcade in Ibadan.

The Olubadan elect, Oba Saliu Akanmu Olasupo Adetunji was born on 26th August, 1928 into the family of Alhaji olayiwola and Alhaja Suwebatu Adetunji of Adetunji compound ,Popoyemoja, Ibadan

Oba Saliu Adetunji is the chief executive officer of Omo Aje sound studio, Adetunji records and Baba Lake records and his company has successfully markets indigenous artistes to prominence such king Wasiu Ayinde and many of them.

He became Mogaji in 1976 and was promoted through these years until 2015 when h became the Balogun o Ibadanland.

The executive governor of Oyo state, His Excellency Senator Abiola Ajimobi will present the instrument and staff of office to the new Olubadan
