OYO GOVERNEMENT TO SUPPORT IBADAN COUNTDOWN FESTIVAL IN DECEMBER

Oyo state government has approved and ready to support the proposed Ibadan Countdown Festival expected to hold between December 24^th to January 1^st 2017.

This was confirmed by the state commissioner for Information

The people of Ibadan and is environs will experience a carnival of fun, entertainment, games and gift away packs this December from 24^th to 1^st of January 2017 expected to hold aat the popular Agodi Gardens, State Secretariat  road, Ibadan.

According to the Head of operations of the organizing committee of the event, Ayo Orumuye, while addressing journalists he explained that the programme will kick stat from the 24^th with the opening ceremony to be declared open by the executive governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi while comedy, display of talents, gifts distributions, performance by different artistes and other fun activities.

Other activities follow on 25^th which is the xmas day with live bands on the stand drama presentation, games and other entertainment activities. On the 26^th December is the food festival day where all food vendors will provide all the Nigerian foods and there will be a special Ibadan delicacy which is Amala, Gbegiri (beans soup) and Ewedu while continental dishes will be available for the international friends visiting the park.

“On the 27^th is the cultural day and our visitors will experience the rich culture of Oyo State with display of different troupe from the state, masquerade display, cultural stage performance which include stage play and other social cultural activities and we are expecting more people to come in and enjoy the  cultural heritage of the pacesetter state”, Ayo said.

On the 28^th is the fashion day and the park will witness different fashion houses, on the 29^th is the business and networking day for all entrepreneurs , this idea is to create more opportunities to meet top business leaders in all fields to share ideas and learn new business ideas.

According to the Ayo, he says on the 30^th is the youth and sport day where over 20,000 youth is expected to converge at the Agodi gardens with al white top for all forms of games and youth activities while the grand finale will be on the 31^st where over 50 Oyo State musicians will converge to ispay and entertained guests, comedians and other fun activities shal be experience according to the organizers. There is going to be a fireworks that has never been experience in the city of Ibadan at midnight to usher in the new year 2017.

The organizers also note that all kinds of children games, rides foods will be available in all days of the carnival.
