A prominent market association in Lagos has declared its support for Godwin Ikuru as its preferred candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The endorsement was announced during a weekend gathering in Lagos, where members of the largely non-indigenous trading community expressed strong confidence in Ikuru’s leadership and vision for the state.

Speaking at the event, the group’s leader, Obina, described Ikuru as a compassionate and capable leader committed to empowering people across ethnic lines. He noted that Ikuru’s track record demonstrates inclusivity and a broad approach to development.

“Godwin Ikuru has consistently demonstrated that he is capable of delivering results. His efforts have impacted both Yoruba and non-Yoruba residents, proving he represents everyone,” Obina said.

Obina added that Ikuru has the capacity to sustain and expand on the achievements of the current administration led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ensuring continuity in governance and ongoing development initiatives.

Members of the association also pledged to mobilize support for Ikuru, expressing optimism that his leadership would promote unity, economic growth, and inclusiveness across the state.

The endorsement highlights increasing political activity among key commercial groups as preparations gradually build toward the next governorship election in Lagos State.
