2027: Nigerian Cleric Advocates Unity, Endorses Tinubu

The founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has called for an end to rising insecurity across Nigeria, urging citizens to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a press conference in Lagos, Ikuru commended the president’s performance since assuming office in 2023, stating that many of his campaign promises have been fulfilled.

He emphasized that national unity and stability are critical for sustained progress.

Addressing the recent wave of violence, particularly in northern states such as Plateau and Benue, the cleric condemned the attacks and warned that such acts undermine the nation’s development. He urged perpetrators to desist, stressing that insecurity remains Nigeria’s most pressing challenge.

Ikuru also called on INEC and political stakeholders across party lines including the PDP, Labour Party, ADC, and others to collaborate in ensuring peace and stability nationwide.

According to him, political differences should not come at the expense of national interest.

Defending the administration against criticism over rising living costs, he argued that the president should not be solely blamed for market prices, noting that many goods consumed in Nigeria are imported.

He maintained that ongoing economic reforms are beginning to stabilize the system.

Highlighting key achievements of the Tinubu administration, Ikuru pointed to the removal of fuel subsidy, the student loan scheme (NELFUND), local government autonomy efforts, coastal road projects, and improvements in bilateral relations.

He added that reduced import dependence and stronger fiscal policies, including tax enforcement, are necessary for long term growth.

The cleric reiterated his confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, recalling that he had predicted his victory in 2022.

He expressed optimism that the president would secure re-election in 2027 and deliver further progress.

On security operations, Ikuru charged the Nigerian Air Force to intensify efforts in tackling insurgency and provide more transparency on recent coordinated operations in northern Nigeria that reportedly led to multiple casualties.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to promote unity, avoid divisive rhetoric, and work collectively toward building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
