A well-attended stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward C, Onilekere, held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, brought together party leaders and loyal members in a show of unity and support for Hon. Prince Seyi Lawal.
The meeting began with an opening prayer led by Alhaja Mustapha, setting a focused tone for discussions. Hon. Lawal, who was formally introduced by the Ward Chairman, attended alongside key political figures, including the Immediate Past Vice Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Taofik Olorunfunmi, Chief Ajibola Lawal, and Comrade Ibrahim Abiodun Balogun, popularly known as “Ablent.”
Addressing the gathering, Lawal commended Ward C leaders for their dedication and acknowledged the contributions of prominent party figure Alhaji Dally Adekunle Adeokun, even in his absence. He used the occasion to officially declare his intention to seek re-election as the representative of Ikeja Constituency I, appealing for the continued support of stakeholders.
Highlighting his political journey, Lawal recalled his rise from grassroots involvement as Ward C Publicity Secretary under the old Ikeja Local Government to serving as Councillor, Leader of the House in Onigbongbo LCDA, and now as a State Legislator. He reiterated his commitment to effective representation and delivering more democratic dividends to his constituents, describing Onilekere as his “second home” after his base in Ward E, Oregun.
Several party stakeholders endorsed his candidacy during the meeting. Comrade Onamisan, Immediate Past Chairman of Ward C, praised Lawal as an accessible and responsive leader who maintains strong communication with constituents. Other speakers, including Mr. Akinshola, Mr. Dotun Omotuyi, and Mr. Atobatele, also commended his performance and urged members to support his second-term ambition.
Representing the non-indigene community, Mr. Livinus lauded Lawal’s inclusive leadership style and invited him to engage further with their group at a scheduled meeting, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Alhaji Monsuru Bonojo, who expressed appreciation to attendees for their commitment to the growth and unity of the APC in Ward C, Onilekere.
