Following the shakeup in the hierarchies of the Yoruba social cultural group, Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) in some states, the newly appointed acting coordinator of Oyo State chapter of the body, Comrade Rotimi Olumo has reinstated the commitment of his members in the state to the national leader and coordinator of the group, Otunba Gani Adams.
Olumo, in a statement issued after the state meeting of the group held over the weekend said all members of OPC that cut across the 33 local government council of the state are remained solidly behind the Gani Adams faction of OPC with strong believe in his ideologies.
He said that the state chapter of the body is not dither with the act of betrayer and rebellious attitude of the former state coordinator of the group Mr. Adeola Adeagbo, describing him as a loner and shadow chaser.
“His act and decision was in contrary to the interest and believe of the teeming members in the state. Is unfortunate that person of his caliber could resort to such rebellious attitude after being made by the group.
“We members of Oyo OPC remained harmonious and undistracted, we strongly believed in ideologies and outlined programmes of our national leader and coordinator, Otunba Gani Adams especially the global prominence he’s given the Yoruba nation through the Oodua People’s Union (OPU) that had now been embraced in many European nations” statement noted.
Olumo however, pledges a new reinvigorated OPC in Oyo State with better collaboration with all government security agencies in the state and improved understanding between the group and the general public.
