HON. ODEBUNMI HAILS OONI PEACE AND UNITY AGENDA

Chairman House committee on information and National orientation Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi has commended Oba Adeyeye Eniitan  Ogunwusi Ojaja 11 ,the Ooni of Ife his  peace agenda  and  bold move towards  enhancing the unity and advancement of Yoruba race

Hon Odebunmi, who represent Surulere Ogo Oluwa Federal constituency at the National Assembly in a statement said such move will further strengthen Yoruba as a race that will not only speak with one voice but set phase for other tribes and stand as a determining factor for development in this nation.

“Yoruba race has been in the front burner in the annals of history of development in Nigeria but the problem of unity which has bedeviled the race is a major factor that is causing serious setback for the race and I am optimistic that with the move by the Ooni, we will move to the next level”.

“ Oba Adeyeye visits to the prominent  Yoruba traditional rulers in the  region is  highly commendable , it is a signal that the eledumare has answer our prayer and that is why he gave  us  a young , committed and energetic  monarch as the Arole of Oduduwa “

“While calling for cooperation with the Ooni and other leaders who are making move to develop and promote Yoruba culture and tradition, Hon Odebunmi said Yoruba said “our custodians of culture and tradition should not relent in enlightening and passing unto the younger generation the customs and tradition of Yorubaland , we should be conscious of our race , our languages and tradition, they must not fade away”.

The overbearing influence of western culture is of concern and we should not allow our own tribe to be affected nor taking over by the foreign  culture and languages its dominance will affects developmental ideas , reasonability and  progress , so therefore we should make effort to promote and teach the younger ones

He however  appealed to Ooni not to limit his effort to the development of Yoruba race alone but also extend it to other regions  of the country in a bid to enhance  national unity and development .
