Lagos Lawmaker Empowers Over 300 Ikeja Students with Free JAMB Registration Pins

More than 300 students in Ikeja have received free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration pins through an educational support initiative spearheaded by Prince Seyi Lawal, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The distribution ceremony, held Thursday at the constituency office, attracted enthusiastic students and parents as the programme marked its third edition.

Speaking at the event, Prince Seyi Lawal described the initiative as a continued investment in the academic future of young people in the constituency. He noted that beneficiaries from the first and second editions recorded impressive performances in their JAMB examinations.

According to him, the outstanding results from previous beneficiaries have motivated him to expand the programme and sustain support for students pursuing higher education.

Lawal urged the new beneficiaries to remain diligent in their studies and strive to make their families and the constituency proud. He also announced plans to reward academic excellence at the tertiary level, promising enhanced support for students who achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above in their first year at the university.

The lawmaker expressed optimism that more than 100 students from this year’s batch would secure admission into universities of their choice.

Beyond academic preparation, he advised students to maintain discipline and be mindful of the company they keep as they transition into university life. He cautioned against negative influences, including cultism, stressing the importance of associating with peers who share similar academic goals.

Addressing journalists after the event, Lawal reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and pledged to initiate more people-oriented projects if granted a second term in office.

He emphasized that his role in public office is to serve and respond to the needs of his constituents.

Residents who attended the event commended the initiative, describing it as a meaningful contribution to educational advancement and youth empowerment within the constituency.
