The founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has announced his intention to contest the Lagos State governorship election in 2027.
Ikuru made the declaration during an interaction with journalists in Lagos, where he spoke about his vision for the state and his admiration for the current administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He said he has closely observed Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership and believes the governor has a deep understanding of Lagos and its complexities. According to Ikuru, building on that foundation would enable him to further transform the state if elected.
“I have watched Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu from far and near, and I can see that he understands Lagos very well. If I succeed him, I will transform Lagos into a world-class city comparable to Dubai,” he said.
The cleric also called on non-indigenes residing in Lagos to support his governorship ambition, stressing that Lagos remains a home for all Nigerians who contribute to its development.
Ikuru further expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that he believes in the president’s leadership and continued relevance in Nigeria’s political future.
He assured residents of Lagos State that his aspiration is driven by a commitment to inclusive governance, rapid development, and improved living standards for all citizens.
